Public Forum: EU-U.S. Insurance Project

​The Steering Committee of the EU-U.S. Dialogue Project will host a public event on Sunday, 22 November 2015, from 13:00 to 16:00 hrs. Eastern Standard Time in Washington, the USA. The event will follow the Fall National Meeting of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) in National Harbor, MD, at the Gaylord National Harbor Hotel and Convention Center.

The event is the third of its kind and is intended to provide the public with a status report of the Project and future work plans. In particular, the event will showcase the current state of group supervision of transatlantic insurance firms and discuss the challenges these firms may encounter. Representatives of the NAIC, Federal Insurance Office (FIO) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the European Commission (EC) and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) will lead the forum.

​About the EU-U.S. Insurance Project

​The EU-U.S. Insurance Project started in early 2012, when the EC, EIOPA, NAIC and the FIO agreed to participate in a deeper dialogue project to contribute to an increased mutual understanding and enhanced cooperation between the EU and U.S. to promote business opportunity, consumer protection and effective supervision in the EU and U.S.
