Public Forum: EU-U.S. Insurance Project
Date: 19/10/2016 10:00
Location: Frankfurt, Germany

The Steering Committee of the EU-U.S. Insurance Project will host a public event on Wednesday, 19 October 2016, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.  The event will be held at the Hotel InterContinental, between 10:00-13:00 CEST, followed by a networking lunch between 13:00-14:00 CEST.

This public event will include discussions of industry trends and related supervisory responses linked to initiatives of the EU-U.S. Insurance Project. Separate panels will discuss emerging risks in the EU and the U.S. relating to the increased globalization of the insurance market; and how insurers are adapting to the global trend toward enhanced consumer protection with new business models, and the challenges they present to supervision. The event will also provide further information by the Project’s Steering Committee leadership on key achievements and the future work planned.  Representatives of the European Commission (EC), European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), the Federal Insurance Office of the U.S. Department of the Treasury (FIO), the Federal Reserve Board and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), will lead the forum.

About the EU-U.S. Insurance Project

The EU-U.S. Insurance Project started in early 2012, when the EC, EIOPA, FIO and NAIC agreed to participate in a deeper dialogue project to contribute to an increased mutual understanding and enhanced cooperation between the EU and U.S. to promote business opportunity, consumer protection and effective supervision in the EU and U.S.
